Solving a large scale radiosity problem on GPU-based parallel computers
The radiosity equation has been usedwidely in computer graphics and thermal engineering applications. The equation is simple to formulate but is challenging to solve when the number of Lambertian surfaces associatedwith an application becomes large. In this paper, we present the algorithms to compute the view factors and solve the set of radiosity equations using an out-of-core Cholesky decompo...

متن کاملSolving Large Sparse Lyapunov Equations on Parallel Computers (Research Note)
This paper describes the parallelization of the low-rank ADI iteration for the solution of large-scale, sparse Lyapunov equations. The only relevant operations involved in the method are matrix-vector products and the solution of linear systems. Experimental results on a cluster, using the SuperLU library, show the performance of this approach.
متن کاملInterconnection Networks for Large - Scale Parallel Computers
A new scalable interconnection topology called the Spanning Multichannel Linked Hypercube (SMLH) is proposed along with an optical implementation methodology that combines both the advantages of free space optics with those of wavelength division multiplexing techniques. The SMLH uses the hypercube topology as a basic building block and connects such building blocks using two-dimensional multic...
متن کاملDistributed intelligence in large scale traffic simulations on parallel computers
Transportation systems can be seen as displaying meta-intelligence, in the sense that intelligent actors (travelers) conspire to make the system function as a whole. In simulations one can model this by resolving each traveler individually, and giving each traveler rules according to which she/he generates goals and then attempts to achieve them. The system as a whole has no goal of its own exc...
